Words from Our Clients

"Julie and Mackey were extraordinary with my 92 year-old aunt.  I was in search of someone to help care for my aunt, not just anyone, but someone special. That is exactly who Hand to Hold is, special, unlike any other caregivers.  They went above and beyond to make sure my aunt received the best care.  They treated and loved her like she was one of their own  Julie and Mackey were so easy to communicate with, when discussing the needs of my aunt.  They were on top of everything, so professional and so very loving."

"I was really apprehensive  about finding someone to help take care of my parents. They are in their mid and late nineties and fortunately can still live in their home.  Me and my brothers and sisters have taken care of them to this point but it’s become impossible to cover all the hours needed.  I didn’t want to send random caregivers from a large service.  I needed a couple people that would be consistently available. A friend suggested that I contact Julie, she runs a small local elder care service.  I will never be able to thank her enough.  The friend and Julie.  Julie suggested a couple ladies to fill in the gaps of my parents care. Molly, Macky, and Lynn are so caring, conscientious and understanding. Their visits are like friends stopping by to see my folks.  My parents love them being in their home.  If you think you need help with the elderly in your life, you probably do.  Call Julie. It’s the best decision I’ve made in a long time. "

"Making sure your loved one is being taken care of the right way around the clock causes a lot of anxiety for a family.  We can not be more thankful to have found Julie and her team to take care of our dad in his last few months of his life.  He was declining with dementia and a heart condition.  These woman are loving, responsible and passionate about their care and worked hard beside our Dad to make sure he was comfortable, safe and had everything he needed to keep him happy.  Julie thank you for being such an angel for our Dad, he was a lucky man."

" I have had the pleasure of knowing Julie for a year as a caretaker for my

elderly mom and have consistently been impressed by her compassion,

professionalism, and dedication to providing excellent care.

During my association with Julie, I observed her exceptional ability to

connect with elderly individuals and meet their needs with patience and

respect. She is highly skilled in managing medications, assisting with

mobility, accompanying the elderly to doctors’ visits and simply providing

companionship. Julie also possesses strong communication skills, ensuring

that both the client and their family feel supported and informed at all times.

Julie demonstrates a deep sense of empathy and understanding. She has a

natural ability to create a warm and comfortable environment, which is

invaluable for fostering trust and enhancing the well-being of those in their

care.

I know that Julie will bring the same level of excellence and dedication to any

caregiving role she undertakes

More Kind Words From Our Clients

Karen S.

"When our mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and dementia, our family was faced with an incredibly difficult decision—move both of our parents into assisted living or find someone who could care for Mom at home. At 84 and 85, my parents had lived a full, independent life, and this was an emotional and overwhelming time for all of us.

From the moment we sat down to interview Julie, we just knew. She felt like one of us—same values, similar upbringing, easy conversation. We connected instantly, and that feeling never changed.

Julie was nothing short of extraordinary. She is an exceptional cook, and the meals she prepared quickly became something my dad looked forward to every single day—he would always ask, “What’s Julie making for us tonight?” But beyond that, it was the love and compassion she showed that truly set her apart.

She treated our mom with such tenderness and patience. She would sit with her for hours—on the bed, on the couch—talking, comforting, and even watching and singing along to André Rieu (Mom’s favorite), over and over again, never once showing frustration when Mom didn’t remember she had already seen it. Julie embraced who they were, even incorporating their Irish roots—playing Irish music, watching Irish programs—bringing them comfort and familiarity.

She didn’t just care for our parents—she became part of our family. Truly like another daughter. My dad grew incredibly close to her (and who wouldn’t?). He confided in her in ways that meant so much, and the bond they shared was something very special.

Living in Florida while my parents were in Maryland, Julie gave me complete peace of mind. I always knew they were safe, cared for, and genuinely loved when I couldn’t be there. That is a gift I can never fully repay.

Julie was also there for us during the hardest moments. When Mom passed in November 2025, she supported our family with grace and compassion. We kept her on afterward, even though Dad was still independent, because we knew how much he needed her companionship. She continued to cook for him, sit with him, and help him navigate life without Mom.

When Dad underwent major surgery in January 2026, Julie didn’t hesitate—she showed up at the hospital to sit with him, talk, and offer comfort. Shortly after, he went to be with Mom. Through it all, Julie went above and beyond in ways that words can hardly capture.

There are simply not enough compliments or strong enough recommendations to express what Julie means to our family. She was a blessing, a lifesaver, and a source of comfort during the most difficult time in our lives.

If you are looking for someone to care for your loved ones, I can say with complete confidence: Julie is truly the very best. And through this journey, we didn’t just find a caregiver—we gained a forever member of our family."

"Julie was and continues to be a true blessing to our family. When my parents were very hesitant at first to have someone assisting them in their home, on day one, Julie’s outgoing, fun personality brought a vibrant energy into their lives. She possesses a work ethic like no other—she literally never takes a break, constantly keeping busy and organizing the house whenever there is a quiet moment. She took amazing care of our mom’s physical needs, from walking assistance to bathing, always with a smile. She was always on top of Mom's medical needs, proactively tracking her health and calling us immediately whenever she felt it was time to get checked out or contact the doctor. But what truly set Julie apart happened after Mom passed. Even though we didn't need the same physical help anymore, we kept Julie on because she had become our dad's best friend and lifeline. She cooked him delicious meals, kept him company, and brought joy back into his life when he needed it most. She had transitioned from a caregiver into an amazing companion and a deeply cherished friend to my dad during his loneliest days. She poured her heart into our family, and we are forever grateful for the love she gave our parents.  If you are looking for an extraordinary caregiver who will love your family as her own, I recommend Julie with the highest possible confidence—any family would be incredibly blessed to have her."
